MEXICO, MAINE, IS 150 YEARS OLD THIS YEAR OF 1968.  LIKE FABLED ROME, MEXICO IS BUILT ON HILLS.  IT IS A BEAUTIFUL AND PLEASANT COMMUNITY AND VERY QUIET, COMPARED WITH THE TOWN (RUMFORD) ACROSS THE RIVER.  ITS HISTORY IS MAINLY THE HISTORY OF ITS PEOPLE.  FLOODS AND THE BUILDING OF BRIDGES HAVE BEEN, AND STILL ARE, THE MAIN THEME OF CONVERSATION.
